Testosterone cypionate is a synthetic derivative of testosterone in the form of an oil-soluble 17 (beta)-cyclopentylpropionate ester. Its benefit compared to other testosterone derivatives is the slow rate of release after injection and longer half-life. The characteristics of testosterone cypionate and testosterone enanthate are very similar, therefore both of them tend to be interchangeable. It was developed by the company Pharmacia and Upjohn and FDA approved on July 25, 1979.

Testosterone Cypionate is often used in place of testosterone enanthate and is used primarly in North America, where in Europe Testosterone Enanthate is the preferred type. There is also 1 day difference between both esters, where Test-E is around 10,5 days and Test-C around 12 days.
Testosterone Cypionate: 250mg up to 1000 milligrams per week. While it might be tempting to increase the dosage to above 1000mg to increase gains, doing so also brings about heightened estrogen and androgenic side effects that are not worth the trade-off for the extra gains and dosing this high is not recommended. Side effects like acne or gynecomastia and offcourse water retention.
