Dihydroboldenone (DHB), also known as 1-Testosterone Cypionate, is a unique anabolic steroid favored for its ability to produce clean, dry muscle gains. DHB is a 5-alpha reduced derivative of Boldenone (Equipoise). However, the 5-alpha reduction changes the molecule significantly. Unlike Boldenone, which is relatively mild, DHB is a very potent androgen. It is structurally identical to Testosterone except for the double bond at the C1-C2 position (hence "1-Testosterone"). This modification increases its anabolic potency and prevents it from being converted into estrogen by the aromatase enzyme.

Clinical Pharmacology

Mechanism of Action:
DHB binds strongly to the Androgen Receptor (AR). Its high affinity for the AR makes it very effective at stimulating muscle hypertrophy and strength gains. Because it cannot aromatize, all weight gained is typically lean tissue.

Metabolism:
DHB is not a substrate for aromatase (cannot convert to estrogen) and is not a substrate for 5-alpha reductase (it is already 5-alpha reduced). This gives it a very favorable side effect profile regarding estrogenic issues. However, it can still cause androgenic side effects.

Post-Injection Pain (PIP):
DHB has a low melting point and can crystallize in muscle tissue or irritate the injection site, leading to significant PIP in some users. Unique Pharma mitigates this by using a lower concentration (50mg/mL) and high-quality carrier oils/solvents to ensure a smoother injection experience.

Side Effects & Safety

Estrogenic:
None. DHB does not aromatize. Gynecomastia and water retention are not concerns with this compound alone.

Androgenic:
Despite a favorable ratio, androgenic side effects (acne, hair loss in predisposed men, body hair growth) can occur due to its potency.

Cardiovascular:
Like all anabolic steroids, DHB can suppress HDL (good) cholesterol and raise LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Hepatotoxicity:
DHB is not C-17 alpha-alkylated and is generally not considered hepatotoxic (liver toxic). However, minimal stress on the liver is possible with any injected hormone.

Suppression:
DHB will suppress natural testosterone production. A Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) is required after use.
